Roxanne Wolf

February 11, 1951 — September 11, 2020

Roxanne Marie Wolf, age 69, passed away on September 11, 2020 in Arbutus, Maryland.

She was born on February 11, 1951 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Eunice Johnson and the late Reuben Johnson.

Caring brother Ronald Johnson and his wife Rose, sons David & Daryl; and Lloyd Johnson and his wife Frances, son Monnie Willis, Angela Hawkes; niece Laura Bentley.

Roxanne is the wife of the late Noel “Tim” Wolf; dear brother-in-law Louis C. Wolf and sister-in-law Linda Wagner; aunt of Jason Wolf, Jennifer Day, Ginger Miner, George Wagner and many great nieces and nephews.

Roxanne was a treasure and knew multiple people from different backgrounds, ethnicities and walks of life. Her physical presence was vibrant and her personality so magnetic that people were automatically drawn to her.  She was noticed when she walked into a room fashionably dressed with her wide smile and almost six foot frame!

She was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, the only daughter of Eunice and Reubin Johnson and the baby sister of two brothers, Ronald and Lloyd.  She is survived by a host of relatives and many friends who will miss her greatly but remember her always.

Roxie, as she was affectionately known, graduated from historic Maggie L. Walker High School.  She was active as a youth member in neighboring Moore Street Missionary Baptist Church.  Her professional career was expansive in her hometown including working at a Fortune 500 company formerly known as Philip Morris Inc.

But the capital of the nation – Washington, DC – called her name and she relocated to the District of Columbia as a young adult never to live in Richmond again.  The highlight of her career there was spent at the Kennedy Center where she served in several high-ranking administrative positions.  She fit right in with the hustle and bustle of this iconic place and was the ideal departmental employee appointed as the primary liaison to various stars and artists who performed there.

She was equally fierce, fun, fearless and fabulous!  Roxanne especially loved music of just about any genre.  Second to that was dancing and she was the person most of her family and friends looked to her to “get the party started”!  She loved to entertain, cook, watch television, travel, dine out and play cards – particularly gin rummy and spades.  And she did not take losing the game too kindly!  The rabid professional sports enthusiast could be considered the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles number one fan and cheerleader! It was common for her to host her own personal tailgate party complete with homemade food and attired in the colors and logos of her favorite teams.

Roxanne held firm to her bachelorette, free spirit love of life status for quite a long time.  That is, until a tall, engaging and charismatic gentlemen named Noel Timothy Wolf entered her life.  They were not only husband and wife but also the very best of friends.

Once they connected, and made their relationship official during their courtship and throughout their marriage, you seldom saw one without the other.  They were meant for each other and remained loyal and protective of one another.  They took their vows seriously over the years making goals, meeting objectives and relocating to places like Northern Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland for employment opportunities along with their precious pets.

We, who knew her best, understand that she has merely gone ahead of us and been returned to Our Creator where she has rejoined other family and friends.  Her day of peace came and she now rests eternally beside her loving spouse.

There is no more discomfort for her.  No more pain.  No more limitations. God bless her sweet soul for all that she was and all that she did!
