Phyllis Miller

August 25, 1922 — January 7, 2021

Elkridge

Phyllis Miller, age 98, passed away on January 7th 2021. She was the beloved wife of late husband Thomas “Webb” Miller for 70 years. Phyllis was a loving mother of Roland and his wife Donna; cherished “Nan” of grandchildren Dana and Brent, his wife Jen, and great-granddaughter Piper. Survived by additional family and friends.

Phyllis was a graduate of Catonsville High School class of 1939. She took great joy in attending all of her class reunions. At her last reunion, she was 1 of 8 alumni in attendance.

Phyllis met the love of her life, Webb, in the Our Savior Lutheran Church choir in 1938. After they married in 1941, Phyllis stayed home with her parents while Webb was in WWII for 5 years. When Webb came home, they purchased a house in Elkridge where they raised their children.

Over the years, Phyllis and Webb were very active with the Masonic Lodge. Phyllis was an active member of the Eastern Star, where the purpose of the lodge was to raise money for muscular dystrophy. In addition to promoting a good cause, Phyllis enjoyed the comradery, dancing, and travel.

Phyllis retired from Westinghouse where she was skilled in reading blueprints and building circuit boards. She was most proud of building the camera that went to the moon.

One of her favorite hobbies was arts and crafts. Phyllis was an exceptional seamstress and won many blue ribbons at the Howard County Fair to include a Grand Champion ribbon for an exquisite christening gown.

Her victory was won; Phyllis lived a very fulfilling life and will be reunited with Webb at Maryland Veteran’s Cemetery in Crownsville.
