Mattie Garrettson

Mattie J. Garrettson, age 91, peacefully passed away on November 17th, 2021. Mattie was born in Baltimore, MD to the late John S. Abey & the late Jessie B. Abey (nee Kendall) and only surviving sibling Kenneth Abey Sr.  She is the devoted wife of the late William E. Garrettson, Jr.; loving mother of LaVerne Alt and her spouse Michael Alt Jr, & Donna Hannaby and her spouse Christopher Hannaby; dear grandmother of Michele Jefferson, Michael Alt III, David Alt, Megan Markel, & Erin Smith; cherished great grandmother of 11 great grandchildren. Mattie is also survived by many other loving family & friends.

Family & friends may gather at the family owned & operated Ambrose Funeral Home of Lansdowne, 2719 Hammonds Ferry Rd., Lansdowne, MD 21227 for a public visitation on Sunday, November 21st from 1:00-3:00pm & 5:00-7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 22nd at 10:00am. Interment will immediately follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
