Lloyd Gleason, Jr.

Lloyd H. Gleason, Jr., age 94, peacefully passed away on June 27th, 2021. Lloyd was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Lloyd H. Gleason, Sr. & the late Ester Ann Gleason (nee Bennett). He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946. After the Navy, he worked for his father, at Gleason & Lutz, as a butcher on Cold Spring Lane and retired from Safeway in 1993. Lloyd is preceded in death by his first wife Katherine Helen Benzinger & his brother Robert Patrick Gleason. He is survived by his wife Marlene Gleason of 28 years; his children Kathleen Gleason Barnett, Lloyd Hill Gleason, III, James Patrick Gleason, & Harry Lee Gleason; his grandchildren Ann Barnett Kelley, Christine Barnett Ruane, & Lloyd H. Gleason, IV; his great-grandchildren  Ciara E. Ruane, Hanna G. Ruane, Andrew Lloyd Gleason, & Cody James Gleason; his sister Mary “Betsy” Gleason Given.

Family & friends may gather at the family owned & operated Ambrose Funeral Home, Inc., 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Halethorpe, MD 21227 for a public visitation on Thursday, July 1st from 3:00-5:00pm. A funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, July 2nd at 11:30am at the same location. Interment will immediately follow at Loudon Park Cemetery.
