Jonah Baney

August 26, 2002 — June 14, 2022

On June 14th, 2022, Jonah Narine Baney passed away. Born on August 26th, 2002 to Bonnie and Anthony Baney, he was the loving brother of  Joshua Baney, Jacob Baney; cherished grandson of Ruth Syme and the late Jackie A. Syme & the late Narine and “Sally” Baney; dear nephew of Henry Baney, Cindoll and Max Nelson, Herman Baney, Ellina and Kelvin Ali, Bobby and Cindy Baney, Jackie Syme and Denise Desverreaux and Robert. Jonah is also survived by many cousins.
Jonah was born in Baltimore and lived in Arbutus his entire life but hoped to one day move to Texas. He attended Relay elementary school, Arbutus middle school and graduated from Lansdowne high school in 2020 during the pandemic. He went to CCBC for two years and played baseball there for 1 year. This fall he would have attended Salisbury University as a Junior. His plan was to work in Law enforcement once he graduated. He played baseball for 7 years at Arbutus Little League before moving on to Linthicum Ferndale then Savage where he got to play at Cooperstown. He also played for API and Rawlings. Jonah loved football and especially the Dallas Cowboys, like his Dad. His most recent sport interest was golf! He even got a full time job this summer working as part of the grounds crew at Rolling Road Country Club. In addition to sports, Jonah was a lover of dogs and concerts and anything that involved spending time with his girlfriend Kira or his friends and family. His life was really just beginning when it ended suddenly in a car accident.
