Gloria Robinson

September 18, 1940 — October 15, 2020

Gloria Elizabeth Robinson, 80, passed away on October 15, 2020. Gloria was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Claude Robinson, Sr, and the late Ella Elizabeth Robinson (nee Wall). She is the beloved sister of Edward Leroy Robinson, Jean Elois Robinson, Timothy Lee Robinson and his wife Diane, the late Claude Robinson Jr., the late Glenn Robinson and his wife Hazel, the late David Shipley Robinson and his wife Theresa, and the late Nancy Louise Robinson, and loving aunt of Kimberly Hatfield, Kevin Robinson, Lori Robinson, and Gwen Robinson.

Gloria attended Elementary, Middle, & High School in Baltimore County. She attended Halethorpe Community Church during its infancy prior to its present location. Gloria also attended the Faith Bible Church in Elkridge, MD. She was very fond of the pastor there who had been at Halethorpe previously. She moved onto College at Washington Bible College, D.C. following her passion for God’s work. From there, she attended the Prairie Bible Institute in 3 Hills, Alberta, Canada. She moved back to the U.S. and relocated to Chicago, IL. She joined the Moody Bible Church there, and began work at the Encyclopedia Britannica Company until it closed shop. She then moved into the Chicago State’s Child with Delinquent Dad’s recovery program. She worked there for several years, and when Maryland State hired the same company, she was given the option to move back home to help train employees. She relocated back at that time. She worked there until about the age of 70 before retiring.

During all this time, Gloria never had a license and always used public transportation. She loved to go into town and walk around visiting historic sites and venues. This was done during her time in both Chicago and Baltimore. She truly enjoyed Christian Church work, especially with children. She taught Sunday school classes in Chicago at Moody Church and loved also doing all types of crafts. She went back to her 1st church at Halethorpe, and participated in many of the children’s programs there. She really enjoyed working 1 on 1 with the Awana children, and they loved her there.

In lieu of flowers, Gloria’s family requests donations be made in her name to Halethorpe Community Church, 1312 Francis Ave., Baltimore, MD 21227. A Memorial Service will be held at Halethorpe Community Church at a later date.
