Clay Hobbs, Jr.

July 18, 1931 — August 3, 2022

Clay Hobbs, Jr., a long time resident of Halethorpe, MD, passed away peacefully on August 3, in his home. Mr. Hobbs was born on July 18, in Baltimore, MD to the late Clay and Mary (Jesse) Hobbs.

Mr. Hobbs honorably served in the Coast Guard during the Korean War. After his discharge, he was employed with the International Paper Co., renamed Lord Baltimore Press, and later with the John D. Lucas Company as a pressman until his retirement on May 30, 1992.

Clay enjoyed sports, especially football often attending Memorial Stadium to watch the former Baltimore Colts and traveled to Ocean City annually with the Colt Corral. He also loved traveling extensively with his wife and organized many of their trips with various clubs and organization members. He is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Norma; a daughter, Susan Hobbs, brothers John, George and Sam Quinn, Roland and William Hobbs, sisters Mary Lahner and Shirley Harrison.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah and her husband, David; grandchildren Stacey Pruett, her husband, Jeremy, and Christopher Day and his fiancee Kelly Canavan; and great grandchildren Alisa Smith, her husband Logan, Carley Pruett, Evan Pruett, and Madison Baumgartner and Junior Baumgartner.

All services and interment will be private.
