William “Bill” C. Reynolds, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 14th, 2021. Born on September 15th, 1925 in Baltimore, MD, to the late Chester L. and Ruth A. Reynolds, he was the beloved husband of the late Mary E. Reynolds (nee Via), devoted father of the late Robert L. Reynolds, Debra P. Reynolds, and Cynthia E. Reynolds, loving brother of the late Henry L. Reynolds, late Elsie V. Maize, late Marie M. Loetz, late Mildred E. Lohn, late E. George Reynolds, and late Thomas E. Reynolds, and the loving stepson of the late Charles A. Hook. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He served honorably as a rifleman and squad leader in the U.S. Army’s 398th Infantry Regiment, European Theater of Operations, during WWII. He fought on D-Day at Omaha Beach, as well as the Battle of the Bulge, earning a Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and Victory Medal. A cabinetmaker by trade, he worked at Westinghouse and later Walbrook Mill and Lumber, where he made custom woodwork for clients such as Lynda Bird Johnson and the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening, watching sports, and spending time with family.
Family members and friends may gather at the family owned and operated Ambrose Funeral Home, Inc., 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Halethorpe, MD 21227 for a visitation on Sunday, April 18th from 3:00-5:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, April 19th at 11:00AM. Interment will immediately follow in the Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s name to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
