William Queen

William (Bill) Dewey Queen, 75, passed away at his home on November 11th, 2025. Bill was born in Washington, DC to the late Nancy Ruth Foster Queen and Admiral Dewey Queen. He graduated from Georgetown University and George Washington University with expertise in experimental pathology and immunopathology, specifically publishing on circulating immune complexes. He was also an accomplished lifelong guitarist who played jazz in the DC metro area. He looked up to Django Reinhardt and many little-known jazz greats. He loved octopi and being a sound engineer for Patuxent Records. The wildlife in his backyard entertained him endlessly. He is survived by his loving partner, Rhea; daughter, Emily; and two cherished grandchildren. 

A private ceremony with close family and friends will be held in his honor. Friends and well-wishers, please hold a special place in your heart for Bill. In lieu of flowers, please support Maryland Public Television or your local public television station.
