Todd Lee Harkins

Todd Lee Harkins, 56, of Lakewood Ranch, Florida, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

Todd was born on July 1, 1969, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Robert and his beloved mother Shirley Harkins. He was a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore, Maryland. For most of his career Todd worked in insurance, which allowed him the opportunity to explore new places and make new connections across the country (Maryland, Colorado, California, and Pennsylvania). His dream was always to live in Florida, and he achieved this in his later years finding a community and career he loved in Lakewood Ranch. For nearly five years, Todd served as a Community Guide at Lakewood Ranch New Home Center, where he took great joy in welcoming visitors, realtors, and residents and sharing enthusiasm for the community. Todd also took great pride in building a home in Lakewood Ranch and served as a board member on the Avalon Woods Homeowners Association. Although he lived in Florida for only six years, Todd embraced the community and built a life there that he truly loved.

Todd’s passion was entertaining and showing off his beautiful homes; he took immense pride in the designs, stylings, and work he himself put into his homes and was a source of advice for anyone that saw his work for interior design. He especially loved the Christmas season and took great joy decorating his home for the holiday. He was a car enthusiast, owning over 30 throughout his life. He loved socializing, entertaining and time with family and friends, and held close connections throughout his life from all the places he lived.

Todd was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Ronald Harkins Sr. and Shirley Lee Harkins, his brother, Robert Ronald Harkins, Jr., and his beloved shiatzu Dolly. He is survived by his nephew Zachary and his wife Emma, and their children, Jackson, Barrett, and Madison; his stepsons, Dylan and his fiancée Isabelle, and Dalton and his wife Laurissa, and their children Ashton and Blakely; and his beloved canine companion, Helen. He is also survived by many extended family members, godchildren, and friends who became family throughout his life.

Todd’s infectious love of life and natural charisma drew people to him. He had a special way of making others feel valued and cared for, and he was known for giving the very best hugs. Whether spending time with family, friends, neighbors, or coworkers, Todd brought warmth, laughter, and genuine kindness to those around him. To know him was to love him, and he will be missed beyond what words can describe.

A celebration of life will be held at Boordy Vineyards on May 3, 2026 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. If you are unable to attend, please raise a glass at 3:00pm and make a toast to Todd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made for the care of Helen at the Celebration of Life.
