Thomas "Fred" Coates

Thomas “Fred” Coates, age 104, sadly passed away on May 26, 2023. Fred was born in Newland, Virginia to the late Thomas E. Coates and the late Virginia M. Gray Coates. He was the beloved husband of the late Ida M. Sullivan Coates;  loving father of the late Frederick R. Coates, the late Darlene D. Engleman and the late Nancy J. Meacham.  He is survived by his daughter Dale A. Smith (Ron). He was the cherished grandfather of Paul, Ron, Kevin, David, and Kim and caring great-grandfather of Reece, Alexa, Mathew, Brenden, Ben, Leo and Josslyn.

Family and friends may gather at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Halethorpe, MD 21227 for a public visitation on Saturday, June 3 from 10:00am-12:00pm. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00pm. Interment will immediately follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
