Langley, Sandra W. “Sandy,” 86, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, was called home to the Lord on February 4, 2026.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Sandy carried with her a lifelong love of learning, curiosity, and connection. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Towson State University, where she discovered her first great passion - teaching. Sandy began her career as an educator at Violetville Elementary School in Baltimore, Maryland and later continued teaching for Prince William County Public Schools (Virginia), touching many lives through her dedication and care for her students. Throughout her life, former students would reach out to thank Sandy for giving them the inspiration and motivation to push forward in life.

Sandy spent much of her adult life in Virginia and Maryland alongside her devoted spouse and best friend of more than 37 years, J.W. Langley. Together they built a life filled with love, shared travel adventures, trips to the beach at sunset, and deep companionship.

Never one to limit herself to a single path, Sandy embraced new challenges with enthusiasm. While teaching full-time, she earned her real estate license and worked to sell residential properties in the Fredericksburg area. Her entrepreneurial spirit also led her to the world of antiques, where she enjoyed selling vintage jewelry, retro postcards and other treasures in shops around Fredericksburg and Colonial Beach. This life-long teacher didn’t just sell objects from the past, Sandy also shared her deep knowledge about collectables.

A self-described tech maven at heart, Sandy was always eager to learn about new technologies and ideas. In fact, she was the first in her family to embrace the digital camera. This funny, eager-to-share educator never hesitated to help family and friends figure out new technology.

Sandy and J.W. also spent years living in Riverview, Florida, where they relished waterfront living, warmer weather, and hosting family gatherings filled with laughter and connection.

After the passing of J.W., Sandy returned to Fredericksburg to be closer to family and friends. In her later years, she found joy in selling vintage postcards on eBay and especially loved discussing marketing strategies and business ideas with her daughters.

Above all, Sandy was an extraordinary mother. She was a constant source of encouragement, unwavering support, and unconditional love to her two daughters, always serving as their greatest champion. She will be incredibly missed.

Sandy is survived by her daughters, Theodora Brack (Roger Manley) and Wendy Brack Fritz (Eric), and her beloved grandchildren, Alexander and Aidan.
