Merry Ellen Pipta (née Runkles), a cherished mother, grandmother, and widow, peacefully passed away on June 19, 2023, in West Palm Beach, FL. She was born on December 25, 1932, in Baltimore, MD, to Oscar Charles and Elizabeth Bennett (Porter) Runkles. 

Growing up in a large family, Merry was one of nine children, including Thomas Runkles, Pauline Deetz, Betty Woolford, Oscar Runkles, Jr, Stanley Runkles, Edmund Runkles, Ralph Runkles, and John Runkles. Although she was preceded in death by all of her siblings, she held their memories close to her heart and maintained cherished relationships with many nieces and nephews.

Merry, a woman of remarkable spirit and faith, brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. With a magnetic personality and a warm heart, she left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Her loving nature was evident in every aspect of her life.

In addition to her loving nature, Merry demonstrated unwavering loyalty to her family. She was preceded in death by Edward Pipta, her husband of 67 years, and grandson Edward Fincannon, and is survived by her daughter, Laura Fincannon and her granddaughter ElizaBeth Wilson, who is married to Benjamin Wilson. She took immense pride in being a great-grandmother to twins Margot and Luna Wilson. Her love extended far beyond blood ties, encompassing her close friends who became cherished honorary family members.

Christmas, being her birthday, held a special place in Merry's heart. She embraced the festive season with an unmatched enthusiasm, dedicating herself to ensuring others experienced the same joy and magic she felt. Merry's generosity knew no bounds as she selflessly shared her love and compassion with countless individuals in need, offering meals, shelter, and her attentive presence. Her acts of kindness inspired others and established her as a beacon of light among those who knew her.

Merry's vivacious spirit and captivating laugh illuminated every room she entered. She cherished time spent with loved ones, always ready to lend an ear and share stories over a cup of coffee. Her genuine interest in others and her ability to make everyone feel valued endeared her to countless friends and acquaintances.

Merry will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire generations to come.

Friends and family, please join us in celebrating Merry's life at Ambrose Funeral Home for a visitation held on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023 from 3pm-5pm at 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd, Halethorpe Md 21227.

There will be a gravesite burial service on Thursday, July 6th at 11:30am at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21227.

The family extends their gratitude to everyone who has offered support and comfort during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you channel Merry's generous spirit by leaving extra-big tips for your waitstaff. Spread the joy and appreciation she would have shown, and brighten someone's day in her memory.
