On February 27, 2026, Marjorie Greene passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to the people she loved. She was 76 years old.
Born on June 24, 1949, to the late Marjorie and the late Joe Purdy, she was the beloved wife of the late David Green, Sr.; devoted mother of Richard, Melissa, David Jr. and his wife Kathy, Paul and fiancé Corinne; cherished grandmother of Jessica, Calvin, Kelsey, Little David, and Alanna; loving great-grandmother of Rogan and Asher; dear sister of Joanne Burr and Harry Purdy; and the late Joseph Purdy Sr., Florence Lewis, William Purdy Sr.
Marjorie was known for her generous heart and her deep love of helping others. She had a natural way of bringing people together, making sure no one felt left out and that every gathering felt warm, lively, and full of laughter. Some of her happiest moments were spent driving the bingo van and playing BINGO herself, a pastime she truly loved. She also enjoyed trying her luck on the slot machines during her trips to the casino, always smiling and enjoying the excitement of the game.
Friday nights were often spent at the legion with her husband and children, a tradition she treasured. She loved breakfast outings with friends and family, where conversations lingered over coffee and waiting on her husband to stop eating. Time spent in Ocean City with her family and friends created some of her most cherished memories — days filled with laughter, togetherness, and simple joy. Above all, Marjorie loved family events and any opportunity to gather the people she loved most in one place.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her older siblings, and her devoted husband of 58 years.
Marjorie will be remembered for her kindness, her lively spirit, and the many lives she touched.
