M. Tom Newcomb

On September 15, 2026 Matthew Thomas Newcomb passed away.  He was born on January 1, 1941 to the late Raymond J. Newcomb and the Late Rose J. Newcomb (nee Stollof); he is preceded in death by his brother William “Bill” Newcomb and his grandson the late Tarcisius Ehlinger. Tom is the beloved husband of Mary T. Newcomb; loving father of Raymond A. Newcomb, and his wife Jennifer Newcomb, Winifred Ehlinger and her husband Tim Ehlinger, Joan M. Abruzzo, and her husband Joe Abruzzo, Matthew W. Newcomb, Amanda E. Washington, and her husband Brent Washington; cherished grandfather of Brexon Washington, Lasia Washington, Ignatius Ehlinger, Marcellus Ehlinger, Lucy Abruzzo, Briel Washington, Broy Washington, Brunye Washington, Brazz Washington, Mary Rose Abruzzo, Abriella Washington, and Anessa Washington.  

Family members and friends will gather in our Arbutus location on Friday September 18, 2026 from 2-4 & 6-8PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine Catholic Church on Saturday September 19, 2026 at 10am.  Interment will be held in the Garrison Forest Veterans' Cemetery at a later date.
