Lois Eileen Woody, age 79, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024. She was born on September 30, 1944 to the late Ray and Katherine Strayer. Lois was the beloved wife of Joseph D. Woody; cherished mother of Anthony Woody and his wife Kelley Woody, Kevin Woody and his wife Erica Woody, and Bryan Woody; loving grandmother of Caleb Woody, Katherine Woody, Francesca Woody, Anna Woody, Harper Woody, and Dylan Woody; sister of Louann Rishel, Larry Strayer, Lee Strayer, Louise Sinnott, and Lynn Strayer; also survived by other loving relatives and friends. 

Lois was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She was married to Joe October 26, 1963,  After the birth of her children, Lois immersed herself as a homemaker for Joe and their sons.  When her children were grown, Lois enjoyed working as a preschool teacher at Mount Providence Child Development Center. In retirement, she and Joe delighted in traveling with friends on cruises and relaxing with friends at Wynnewood Pool. Lois was thrilled to be a grandmother and made many happy memories with each of them. 

Lois will be remembered for her soft spoken caring ways and the thoughtfulness she showed to others.

A memorial service will be held at Arbutus United Methodist Church, 1201 Maple Ave, Halethorpe MD 21227 on Saturday, June 8th at 11am. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Lois’s memory to Arbutus United Methodist Church.
