John "Jake" DeBoy

June 3, 1930 — October 29, 2023

John “Jake” DeBoy, age 93, passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2023. He was born on June 3, 1930 to the late Ferdinand and Hazel DeBoy. He is the beloved and devoted husband of 72 years to Joyce DeBoy (nee Greer); cherished father of Janice Shinnamon, Jill Swisher, Janine (Marty) Ehlers, Jeff (Donna) DeBoy, John (Jeanne) DeBoy, Julie (Vernon) Williams, and Joey (Kim) DeBoy; loving Pop of Donnie (Val), Jennie, Tara (Luke), Katelyn (Nick), Kyle (Steph), Jason (Mary), Kara (Trevor), Jake (Amanda), Anna (John Michael), Mollie (Kody), Brett, Jack, Drew, Josh, Tyler, Luke, and Zach and Great Pop to Noah, Jordan, Ethan, Nate, Jaxon, Charlotte, Macie, Jovie, Lucie, Titus, Liam, Carter, Dominic and Mila; dear brother of Kathy Whitaker. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. Jake is preceded in death by his brother Don DeBoy.

A viewing will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Halethorpe MD 21227 on Sunday from 3-8pm. A funeral service will take place on Monday at Lansdowne Worship Center at 11am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Jake's memory to Samaritan's Purse.
