Joan C. May

Joan Christine May was born on May 25, 1943 in Buffalo, New York and passed away on August 24, 2026 in Mount Airy, Maryland. She was 83 years old.

Joan earned her Bachelor's degree from Nazareth University, her Master's degree from University of Notre Dame and her PhD from the University of Wisconsin. She worked as a Chemist for the National Institute of Health and served the healthcare and public health sector operating within the biomedical and biotechnology research sector. Joan published 14 research works with 220 citations and traveled to present her research at conferences within the United States and Europe.

Joan is survived by her devoted sister, Marjorie Mantione (husband Andrew); sister in law, Nancy May and her nephews Kenneth May (wife Kathy), Jeffrey May, Andreas Mantione (wife Julia); niece, Melissa Mantione and great Niece Renee May.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents Francis John and Natalie Delores Ann May as well as her brothers Ronald F. May, John M. May and a niece Renee A. May.
