James "Poppy" Fries

James “Poppy” Fries, age 95, sadly passed away on November 14, 2023. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Henry Fries and the late Elizabeth Hessler. James was the beloved husband of the late Ruth Fries and the late Kathleen Fries; loving father of Jeanne Arevalo, Billy Fries, Glenn Fries, the late Jack Sawyer, the late Sherry Fries Tudor, the late Dennis, and the late Lloyd; caring grandfather of Tommy Fries, Shannon Fries, Mark Tudor, and many other loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; cherished uncle of Raymond Barr; dear Godfather of Patrick Chubb. James was predeceased by his 10 siblings.

Poppy was a father figure to his adopted children, grandchildren, and all of his family and friends. He was a good man, a savior, and one of a kind. He left his house open to all and it was a gathering place for everybody especially for family dinners. He was always loved and will be missed dearly.
