Henry “Dutch” Weber, age 96, passed away on September 27, 2023.  Dutch was born on May 25, 1927, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Carl and Caroline Weber. He was the beloved and devoted husband of the late Madelyn Weber (née Sperlein).  Uncle Dutch is loved and survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews, including Scott J. Cooper and his wife, Lisa, and their children, Max and Ava.  He is also survived by a host of devoted friends, including dear friends Anne and Bob Wagner, and their son, Scott.

Dutch started working at the Baltimore Gas & Electric (BGE) Company in 1951 and retired from BGE in 1987 after 36 years of devoted service.
He served in the U.S. Navy on board the USS Tarawa as WWII was coming to a close in the Pacific. He was honorably discharged from active duty in 1946 and from inactive reserve duty in 1954.

He was an active and vital member and a past president and officer of the Arbutus Community Association. Dutch was also a member and past president of the Arbutus Travel Club as well as a longtime member of the American Legion Dewey Loman Post 109.

Dutch greatly loved traveling with his wife Madelyn and close friends and family. He was also a devoted Orioles and Baltimore Colts fan (and later Ravens fan). Most especially, he enjoyed crabbing and fishing, and relaxing with friends and family at the home he and Madelyn built with his parents in 1964 on the Chesapeake Bay in the Neck District of Dorchester County.  This love of the water and of this special place continued to the present, with his last visit there in July of this year.

A viewing will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Halethorpe MD 21227 on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM.  A funeral service will be held the following day, Saturday, October 7 at 10 AM with burial following at Loudon Park Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dutch’s life at a wake/reception/luncheon at the Arbutus Community Association Town Hall immediately following interment.

In lieu of flowers, Dutch asked that donations be made in his memory to the Arbutus Community Association, 1349 Stevens Avenue, Halethorpe MD 21227.
