Frances Claire Grace

Frances Claire Grace (nee Johnson), age 83, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Theresa Johnson (nee Doniecki) and William A. Johnson Sr., her beloved husband of 52 years, Philip A. Grace Sr., her brother, William A. Johnson Jr., her granddaughter, Addison Claire Grace, and great grandson, Austin Grace.  She is survived by her children, Philip A. Grace Jr. and his wife Diana, Kevin Grace and his wife Kellie, Colleen Flack, and Kenneth Grace, her sister Susan Campbell and her husband Robert, her grandchildren, Jessica Walton, Theresa Brest, Desirae Hardee, and Dale Flack, her 10 great grandchildren, and many friends and family.

Claire was born and raised in Lansdowne, MD where she attended St. Clement’s School.  She graduated from The Catholic High School of Baltimore in 1957 and briefly worked in the credit department of Hochschild Kohn.  She was a homemaker for 23 years and returned to work for the AA County Board of Education, where she retired after 18 years.

Most recently, she lived at DePaul House in Halethorpe, MD where she never missed a bingo game, played challenging scrabble games and could not pass up a good late night computer game.  She was a beautiful soul who was kind to all and had the ability to see the good in everyone.  She will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held at the family owned and operated Ambrose Funeral Home of Lansdowne, 2719 Hammonds Ferry Road, Halethorpe MD 21227 on Sunday from 3-5pm and 7-9pm with a Wake beginning at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Clement I Roman Catholic Church on Monday at 10am followed by burial at Meadowridge Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Claire to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA  90266 or pancan.org.
