Elizabeth Ann Gettier, lovingly known as Betty to her family and friends, passed away on January 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her daughter Nicole Boyd and son‑in‑law James Boyd, along with her cherished grandchildren Izzy and Carter. Betty is also survived by her son Paul Gettier and daughter‑in‑law Lisa Gettier, and her beloved grandchildren Star, Cali, Dylan, and Lila. In addition, she leaves behind her four sisters—Vicki Marshall, Mary Cleaver, Jane Grabowski, and Anna Stewart, her identical twin—as well as her brother‑in‑law Jeff Stewart. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Those who knew Betty will remember her for her playful sense of humor and unwavering kindness. She cherished a close‑knit circle of friends. Above all, Betty treasured her role as a grandmother; she found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren and went out of her way to create special moments with them. Her sisters were an important part of her life, and she deeply cherished those relationships. Betty loved a good cup of tea and embraced the simple pleasures of life.
Her love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 24, 2026, at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Halethorpe, MD 21227, from 12:00–1:00 p.m. with a service to start 1:00p.m.; a reception to follow.
