Dorothy T. Makar

Dorothy T. Makar, age 92, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children on March 18, 2024. She is the beloved wife of the late Anthony ‘Tony’ L. Makar; loving mother of Theresa and Jim Zeller, Daniel A. and Michelle Makar; Jeanne and Robert Markov, Mary Beth and Dennis Clark, Michael and Lisa Makar, and the late Janice O’Connor; dear Mom Mom of Christine, Larry, Mary Ann, Brad, Danny, Jamie, Amanda, Zach, Josh, and Kelly; GG Mom Mom of Michael, Ally, Maddy, Evan, and Shep, also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Dorothy is preceded in death by her siblings Marie, Clement, Joe, Rita, Leo, and Jim. 

A viewing will be held at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Road, Halethorpe MD 21227 on Thursday from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. A funeral mass will take place Friday at 10am at Ascension Catholic Church. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Dorothy’s memory to St. Joseph’s Nursing Home 1222 Tugwell Dr, Catonsville, MD 21228.
