Darryl Lynn Taylor (Leddon) of Severn, Maryland passed away suddenly on April 13, 2024 at HCA Aventura Hospital in Miami, Florida. Darryl was 75. She was the cherished wife of 52 years of Brenard John Taylor (Brenny). She had recently been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and had just begun chemo treatments, but was not afraid of her diagnosis: She knew that she would be reunited with her beloved Brenny again. In true Darryl fashion, she did her best to enjoy every moment while battling the disease. Her spirits were high as she celebrated her 75th birthday on a cruise with her family. During the cruise, however, she experienced organ failure and a stroke, requiring air transport to the nearest hospital. After a short struggle, she passed peacefully at 8:12PM, with her daughter, granddaughter, and grandson at her side. Darryl will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife, and a real firecracker. She fiercely loved her family, friends, and dog-baby, Bandit. Her sense of humor, infectious smile, and loyalty to her family will be greatly missed.
Darryl was preceded in death by loving parents Elizabeth (Benner) and Benjamin Leddon of Baltimore, Maryland, and the love of her life, her husband, Brenard Taylor. She is survived by her children Brenda Ali and her husband Shaikh of Severn, MD; and Tricia Taylor of Severna Park, MD; grandchildren: Priya Bugnait and husband Aryan, Ben Smith and fiancé Tosha Poling, Danielle Boyd, Bilal Iqbal and wife Kathleen Foster, Chelsea Boyd, Kalyn Ali, Zachary Boyd, Khalisa Ali, Isaac Ali and wife Mahiba, and Maryam Ali, and 11 great grandchildren. She was a sister-in-law, aunt, and cousin to many.
A viewing will be held at the family owned Ambrose Funeral Home, Inc., 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Arbutus on Friday, April 19th from 5 PM to 9 PM, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 20th at 11:30 AM. Interment will immediately follow at Loudon Park Cemetery.
