Clark Emmanuel Arthur, 70, passed away on November 18, 2025. He was born on August 10, 1955, at Korle-Bu Hospital in Accra, Ghana, to the late Nora Kotei Dzanie and Samuel Victor Arthur.
A man of quiet ambition and boundless curiosity, Clark left Ghana as a young man around 1970 to explore the world. He spent time in Switzerland and Germany, where he pursued his love of music, before immigrating to the United States in 1974 to attend College in Florida.
He would call America home for the rest of his life.
Clark was a lifelong learner who spoke 4 languages, held three Master's degrees, and believed deeply in the power of education. He built a distinguished career as a Division Director at AT&T, where he worked for more than fifteen years. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a soft-spoken, gentle man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life—losing himself in a good book, crafting short stories, and cooking for those he loved. His peanut butter soup became a cherished family tradition, the first Ghanaian dish he introduced to his daughters, and a taste of home that connected generations.
Clark took great pride in providing for his family, always finding beautiful homes and working tirelessly to maintain them. When his children were young, he devoted himself to their care and education, instilling in them the same love of learning that guided his own life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary.
Clark is survived by his three children: Phedra Aba Arthur Iruke, (Ajiri Iruke - son in law), Chandra Efua Arthur, and Everett Arthur; his grandchildren, Kensington Iruke and Fitzgerald Iruke; his twin brother, Samuel Arthur; his siblings, Rebecca Arthur and Barry Arthur; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews in Ghana and Europe.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM EST (7:00 PM GMT) at Loudon Park Cemetery, 3620 Wilkens Ave, Baltimore, MD 21229.
