Bonnie Anne Lease (nee Lee), beloved wife of Frederick D. and daughter of the late Robert L. and E. Marguerite Lee, passed away on July 6, 2023 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband Frederick, her daughter Jennifer A. Doherty, son-in-law Sean M. Doherty, granddaughter Emma J. Doherty, grandson Michael J. Doherty and many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, John M Lease and her brother Michael R. Lee.

Bonnie was a long-time active member of St. John's Grace United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School, was the VBS Storyteller for many years, worked on various committees, and was general cheerleader for those around her. Professionally she had a long and varied career in information services. She was a proud graduate of Western High School (Class of 1967), earned her Associate’s Degree at the Community College of Baltimore County, her Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Baltimore and her Master’s Degree in History from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Early in her career she spent many years with the Congressional Information Service (a microform publishing company) as an editor, a project manager, and competitive intelligence researcher. Later she worked for History Associates as a historian for a few years, before spending the rest of her career until retirement at the Enoch Pratt Free Library. At Pratt she worked in Telephone Reference and became the first manager of the Pratt Public Computer Center, where she advocated for her homeless patrons, made sure students got their homework done, and helped Baltimore’s citizenry apply for jobs and support benefits, set up email accounts, and more. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and daughter, who loved her family and friends with everything she had. She was a true sister in Christ who believed that faith and social justice should go hand-in-hand. She will be missed by her family and friends, but all are comforted to know that she has gone home to be with the Lord.
