Beatrice "Bonnie" Lauryssens

Beatrice (Bonnie)  Yvonne Lauryssens (nee Seager) born May 30, 1939 transitioned peacefully at Stella Maris Respite Care on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 12:25 am. She was 82-years old.

Bonnie graduated from Catonsville High School (Class of 1957) and went onto a successful 38-year career in the medical field, first as a Nurse and then as a Nurse Practitioner (NP). She was one of the first Nurse Practitioners in the state of Maryland and spent her career training other NP’s. She worked her entire career at GBMC in the labor and delivery department.

She was predeceased by Clarence and Beatrice Seager of Arbutus. She is survived by her three children: Michele Wolfe (Edgewood), Neil Lauryssens (Joppatowne), Dawn Dixon (Perry Hall) and grandchildren: Cal Lauryssens, Adrienne Nelson, Paula Wolfe and Megan Dixon. In addition, she has two great grandchildren in Ellie Lauryssens and Colton Nelson.

Bonnie loved spending time with her family swimming and boating. She was an avid traveler and loved being a part of the windjammer cruises.

Services will be held in her hometown Arbutus at Ambrose Funeral Tuesday, August 24 from 1-3 and 4-6 with a memorial service immediately following at 6 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations go to the SPCA.
